Biography

Chevonne graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, and later earned her Juris Doctorate from the Florida State University College of Law.

With over ten years of experience in the public sector, Chevonne is a knowledgeable and astute subject matter expert in a variety of Florida regulatory program areas. Since graduating law school, she has dedicated her career to public service, beginning as a criminal prosecutor for the 2nd Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office before transitioning to administrative law at the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).

During her decade-long tenure at DBPR, Chevonne served as an attorney for five distinct regulatory divisions and represented the agency in several appellate cases, including a successful argument before the Fourth District Court of Appeal. Her experience at DBPR allowed her to develop a broad range of expertise, which she continually refined and applied across various legal and operational roles, gaining valuable experience in multiple regulatory industries.

As a former state agency director overseeing Florida’s condominium, timeshare, cooperative, mobile home, and yacht and ship regulatory program areas, Chevonne has cultivated an extensive, multifaceted scope of knowledge. She led the development and enforcement of regulatory policies statewide, acquiring invaluable insights and specialized experience, which she now applies in her representation of clients.

Outside of work, Chevonne enjoys staying active, visiting the beach, and spending quality time with her husband and their two dogs—a Maltipoo and a Cavapoo.
